Battle of Ogdensburg

Saturday, February 23th to Sunday, February 24th 2019

Free and open to the public,
Cannon and musket fire will mark the battle of Ogdensburg Reenactment on February 24th-25th 2018 at the former site of Fort de la presentation in Ogdensburg New York. Sponsored by Forsyth’s Rifles, Prescott and Ogdensburg will commemorate the War of 1812 Battle of Ogdensburg with activities in both communities over the weekend.
The reenactment will follow as closely as possible the original ground where the battle took place.
Saturday afternoon there will be a reenactment through main street in Ogdensburg.
Saturday night there will be an English country dance always well attended by folks from both sides of the river.
On Sunday morning there will be a wreath laying in honor of Sheriff Joseph York. Sunday afternoon there will be a battle reenactment of the American withdrawal at light house point, and British capture of the town.
