“Join us this fall for the Museum’s first international loan exhibition and follow Richard St. George on his dramatic personal journey through the Age of Revolution.

As a young Irish officer in the British Army, St. George devoted his life to defending the British Empire and a social order threatened by revolutionary movements in America, France, and Ireland. He survived a severe head wound while fighting in America, but ultimately lost his life at the hands of Irish Revolutionaries who struggled to found an independent Irish republic.

St. George’s tragic rise and fall will be brought to life with his wartime artwork, rare portraits, historical artifacts, and documents from museums and private collections in Ireland, England, Australia, and the United States.”
