The War of Complex Choices and Often Devastating Outcomes
The complexities of the choices made during the American Revolution as not as clear as they may seem on the surface. Each individual, family and community aligned with an ideology that would force them to face the known enemy – once called neighbour, friend and family. For many, this was a civil war which pitted brother against brother, women followed the choices made for them, tearing them away from the bonds of family.
Many UE Loyalist descended families also have Patriots in their family tree, and vice-versa – the evidence of civil war to these families.
